Well, I've read it all through and tonight will be THE night......!
I have an HP, which got a Trojan (personal antivirus), renewed my Norton to get rid of it (it didn't), downloaded PC Dr paid the $29.99 and that sorted it out, then the next problem........ Installed SP3, enter stage left, reboot hell..! Tried a system restore, which doesn't sound like it has worked from the phone conversation I had with partner, so........ Back to the start of this comment......
Suspect I have an AMD, so hoping this is going to be an easy fix....
Only problem.......... New, fresh, live Norton loaded when I installed SP3, so unknown problems may lay ahead..... I hope not....
Very good advice on here, well written too. Thank you for taking your time to write these so peeps like me have half a chance of sorting things out.....
I'll let you know how it goes.........
